Let the wall dry for a few days before washing. Giving it plenty of detergent and water will help cover all areas where dirt may reach. Spray in horizontal strokes over a 3 or 4 foot wide area at a time. Set the pressure washer to 1000 psi or less and use a 40 degree fan tip nozzle.

At the right psi the water stream is strong enough to remove algae dirt and color shadowing from your brickwork without damaging the brick. A pressure washer with about 3 gpm and 3000 psi is ideal for most concrete and brick cleaning jobs. For brick you ll want a pressure washer that works at a range of 500 2000 psi. The key to cleaning brick is less pressure more detergent.

Start by choosing the proper pressure and nozzle tip. Bricks and mortar are porous so the detergent and water will soak in a bit. Choose the tip with the widest angle that still gets the job done to prevent degrading the surface of the hardscape. Psi stands for pounds per square inch.

Allow it to work into the brick for 5 10 minutes. Start with moderate pressure and follow the manufacturer s instructions for the ideal nozzle distance from the cleaning surface.
